ABSTRACT:

Lincoln Avenue Nieghborhood Business District (NBD) Parking Study - Thesis project to fulfill the requirements of the Masters in Urban Planning.

Parking studies are used to evaluate the current supply of parking or to plan for future needs. Some parking studies deal with the adequacy of parking for particular need; others are designed to evaluate parking conditions in an specific area. In this particular case the parking study is concentrated on Lincoln Avenue Neighborhood Business District, formerly known as Downtown Willow Glen in the City of San Jose, in California.

The main objective was to respond to some of the parking issues in the district, such as deficit, and distribution among others.

A region constitutes an area where existing businesses share parking, they clearly have their own physical boundary determined by a fence or wall. A region contains more than one parcel and most of the times follows property lines.
